Roberto Daneo developed the very first project proposal to the City of Milan to bid for the World Expo 2015. He was then appointed Managing Director of the Committee, responsible for the application until 31.03.2008, when the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) has selected the City of Milan as the site of the Expo.
His main areas of responsibility were:
- Developing the official Bidding Dossier to be submitted to the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions)
- Organizing all the official events of the bid (Enquiry Mission, Forum with the BIE delegates, official visit to the national authorities)
- Supporting the International promotional campaign of the Milano bid
- Developing relations with the BIE and the national and local stakeholders
